As you probably know, I’ve been having mental health issues. And for that reason, I’ve decided to take up Zumba.
I enjoyed Zumba in school, mainly because I could do it even with nerve damage in one half of my body.
And the reality is that I can still do it. I bought a Nintendo Switch game called Zumba Burn it Up! – it’s Just Dance but Zumba, and it’s pretty awesome! I really can’t do it, I’m slow and terrible with foot movements – but I enjoyed it. Probably because I was in my own home instead of being stared at by actual people.
I suppose that’s the best thing of quarantine – nobody can see my jiggly belly as I’m dancing – so I don’t feel as self concious!
I did it for around 20 minutes, which got me the daily goal of getting 15 stars and it was fun.
You may not have a switch, or even want to buy the game.
But if you want to do Zumba, there’s resources on Youtube!
Start with a slow pace one:
Build up to something a little faster:
Get faster:
And then slow down:
This is a youtube channel I’m subbed to, mainly because it’s consistent and free – they have a variety of tracks, so you’ll probably find some that you enjoy.
I hope you enjoy your dance time! Time for me to get back to Zumba!
