Take a Deep Breath

Sometimes we need to take a breath to keep ourselves calm.

And there’s a few things that I’ve found soothing in this time.

The sound of a sewing machine has weirdly become something that I can’t get out of my head. It keeps me calm and sounds perfect. It’s repetitive which helps me.. a lot.

Something else is music! Of course, music makes use feel – it’s the entire point of it. So, break out your favourite album from 2013 or 2011 and listen to it in order on repeat for a bit. (Note: my favourite album of 2013 was Pure Heroine by Lorde, and my favourite from 2011 was Lovestrong by Christina Perri).

Next, is simple – watch a movie that you enjoy. It’s been proven that no matter the film genre – even horrors – can decrease your stress level and calm you down if it’s a film you’ve already watched and enjoyed. So, I suppose it’s time for me to watch the Cornetto Trilogy again. But for the time being, I’m going through the Captain America trilogy. Iron man has already been watched. And I’ll be leaving the Avengers and single films such as Doctor Strange and Black Panther until last.

I hope you’re all doing well in quarantine, if you need someone to talk to – remember we’re here.
