PotD #74: Misgendering In Isolation

I’m back on my mental health medication. I’m tired as hell, thanks to them as they’re causing me a lot of fatigue. But that’s okay.

But, my parents wanted to know what had caused it. They wanted to know what was causing me so many issues. And I told them.

Them misgendering me, especially while in Quarantine where I don’t have social interaction with the people who usually help with validation… Wasn’t helping my Depression or Gender Dysphoria.

Today, we had a family meeting. Sitting 3 feet apart as per NHS guidelines. And the pair of them gendered me correctly for the first time ever. And because they’ve never done it before, I was so confused that I didn’t even realise that they were talking about me…

I must admit, this situation isn’t ideal. It’s horrible to say the least. But there is some light in the darkness.

I hope you see the light.
Stay Safe!
