We all know who Skylar (Jordan) Gutierrez is.
And if you don’t know, or you’re new to T3ddy Talk, then let me explain.
Skylar is my fiancee. I love them dearly.
We met in May 2014 and became friends, later becoming partners in October 2014. We officially met in August 2015, I picked them up from Manchester Airport.
I was so nervous. I was self conscious about my weight, about my look overall. I’d never actually met Sky before. I’d seen them on video calls, but we all know about horror stories of finally meeting someone and it turning out to be a catfish situation.
But I had no reason to worry. We hit it off. We went home, Sky stayed with us. We ate a shit ton of food and found that Sky likes British food – specifically Fish and Chips!
A couple of days before Sky went home, we got engaged at an American Style Diner called Mattia Diner. It was fantastic. But, then it was time for Sky to go home… And it broke my heart.
We went to the airport, we waited there for hours, then I had to watch as they went back to the USA.
The first video call after this was horrific. I couldn’t stop crying. I’d gotten so used to them being with me, sleeping in the bed next to me. And every year, it hasn’t gotten easier. Maybe I don’t cry as much? But that’s because I know it has to happen, but I also know that one day I’ll be able to go pick them up from the airport and I won’t have to take them back.
Unfortunately, we’re having issues with that part.
For us to marry and have Skylar stay in the UK, we need a minimum of £15,000.
Which, I’d like to post out, isn’t much less than what I get from my day-to-day job.
It’s going to be £10,000 for the first two visas and solicitors fees – we need the Fiance Visa, then the Spouse Visa.
After that, we need £5,000 to get Sky to the UK and to pay for the very rushed wedding that we’re going to have – because without it, we can’t have the Spouse Visa.
For the past two years, I’ve had the goal to get the money together so that we can finally be together permanently. But as it stands, we can’t do it alone.
So, we’re asking for help.
